Cake Shop on Tuesday, October 12, 2010
We’re dropping our new Heartbreak EP on Tues Oct 12. What will it sound like? Like our live show: punk music with dissonant, intricate guitars and pretty, sexy harmonies. A little bit like Brainiac, Shudder to Think, Pixies, Fugazi, Captain Beefheart, Rain Dogs era Tom Waits, etc.
We’re playing a show to celebrate, on Tues 10/12 at Cake Shop. We’ll play all of our favorites plus some brand new shit (it’s consonant!). If you haven’t seen us in a while then this would be a perfect time. EPs will be free for everybody.
9:30 – Noxious Foxes
‘Two men + one guitar + one set of drums = awesome… Nice and brutal and pretty and loud. This has those math-rock rhythms that go up and down and all over the place and my ears shall follow them wherever they lead.’

10:15 – Cesspool
‘Wildly imaginative and totally entertaining… The songs are obviously too far out for the general public. But our guess is that the folks in this band really don’t give a damn. There is so much creativity going on here that it is, at times, totally overwhelming. 5 stars.’

11:00 – Delta Hotel
I don’t have a quote for these guys because they’re brand new, but I will tell you that they make charming, super enjoyable pop punk. It hits that 90s-kid pop-punk sweet spot. We met them when they played w/ us at Cameo and they ruled extra hard.
