New Website

We’re working on a new website. Without the layout restrictions imposed by Myspace, we’ll be free to do whatever we want. Here are some of the ideas that we’ve got going on:

• Tons of downloads. If we make a great live recording, or an amusingly horrible one, then you can get it for free. More importantly, you can download all of the inane bullshit that we make in our spare time. For example * when Alex went on vacation to Germany, the rest of us surprised him with a parting gift: an album that we had written and recorded for him. The album is eight songs long, all sort of bro-ishly making fun of Alex. It’s not Cesspool per se, but it’s a lot of fun and it’s the kind of thing we’ll be giving away as often as we can. Who wouldn’t want an album entirely devoted to mocking a dude?
• Regularly scheduled rap battles. Every three weeks or so we’ll pick a topic, make a beat, and battle. The results will be posted. Hear us insult the shit out of each other in rhyming couplets!
• “Fan of the Month.” We will pick some gentleman or lady who has helped us out, and we’ll put their picture on the site along with a funny blurb. We’ll also treat them to a romantic candlelit dinner. When the next month rolls around we’ll pick a new winner. The old winner’s blurb will move over to our “Previous Fan of the Month” column, with a picture of them looking really sad.
• More news. We’ll keep full updates about the music we’re composing, the on-stage gimmicks we’re planning, etc. When we design merchandise, we’ll put drafts on the site and you can vote on what’s good. You can gently tell us that nobody wants a Cesspool shirt of a bloody baby suggestively fondling a syringe.

That’s all just a start, really. I wanted to write about this new website before getting it up and running, so that you could add your own suggestions. I know you won’t but I figured I’d try anyway. What do you want to see on our new site? An in-depth account of our songwriting process? Bleep-bloop MIDI dance remixes of Cesspool songs? Naked pictures of Abe? Jared’s top ten favorite deep-fried maple syrup recipes? A column for Alex’s funny/awkward situation of the week?
