TWO BRAND NEW SONGS, FREE DOWNLOAD!
Okay, for real this time! A few days ago we posted a joke version of a new Cesspool song, but now we have replaced that version with the real thing and added a second new song as well. The new songs are called About Last Night and Shopping Trip, and they are available for free download. Call it a Christmas gift from Cesspool to you.
A little info:
- About Last Night and Shopping Trip are the first new Cesspool recordings since 2005
- Shopping Trip is a plot-driven story-song. It is probably our most ambitious song to date.
- About Last Night holds its cards closer. It is slinky and murky and dense and volatile. It may be our most difficult song to date.
- Both About Last Night and Shopping Trip are totally dick, deep in their DNA. I don’t really know how to explain this any further.
- We have ten or so more songs currently in the works. All of this new material is slowly coalescing into what will become our next album.
I have made up a little ALN/ST scavenger hunt. The following ten items are hidden in either About Last Night or Shopping Trip. If you can locate seven of the ten items, then I will write a poem about you and read it onstage at a Cesspool show. If you don’t live in New York, I’ll record my onstage reading and send you the video. As always with this kind of thing, I am serious. If I get inundated with answers and I have to write like 30 poems, then I’ll stop taking new submissions, but somehow I don’t see that happening.
CAN YOU FIND SEVEN OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
- Bass clarinet?
- Humming?
- Breathing?
- Kissing?
- Gargling?
- Girls going “mm, mm!”
- Violins that are plucked, not bowed?
- Three different sections that feature singing elementary schoolers?*
- A guitar part made only of harmonics?
- A “New Chord”?
Send me a list of each found item with the correct song and time, i.e. “Bass Clarinet can be found in About Last Night starting at around 0:02.” Your onstage poetry awaits!
Happy holidays! Enjoy the new music,
- Dave*The intro to About Last Night doesn’t count as one of the three sections
